There are days when one stops being a company and becomes a person again.
This is one of those days.
From Shopping Box we have built our story connecting Panama with Venezuela. We have loaded boxes of love, food, medicine, carefully chosen clothing because someone knew exactly who was going to receive it on the other side. We know that route better than anyone. And precisely because of that, when Venezuela hurts, we hurt too.
Because Venezuela is not just a destination
For us, Venezuela is the mom waiting for the package. It is the child who learned to undertake from there with what comes from here. It is the family that celebrates Three Kings' Day with what was sent in December with so much effort. It is the compatriot who arrived in Panama looking for a better life and who asks every week how everything is over there.
Venezuela is not a line in our rate sheet.
Venezuela is us too.
That’s why today we are not here to talk about logistics. We are here to say what we feel: we are with Venezuela. With its people. With those who are waiting for news and with those who have already received it and still don’t know how to move forward.
Thank you to those who did not look the other way
To the countries that sent rescue teams, who put their people on planes heading to a land that was not theirs but that they made their responsibility: thank you. There is no other word more honest than that.
To the rescuers who are there, among the dust, the heat, the hours that go uncounted: we see you. The world sees you. What you are doing is priceless. The whole world remembers you, and Shopping Box does too.
To those who opened their wallets, their pantries, their warehouses to gather donations: every grain of rice matters. Every medication matters. Every liter of water matters. Those gestures that seem small in the face of the magnitude of what has happened are, in reality, what truly moves the world when it is needed most.
Thank you! We will remember it forever.
What you can do today
If you have something to give — a box, a bag, whatever — take it to the collection centers. It doesn't have to be much. It just has to be real.
And if at this moment you have nothing material to offer: pray. Ask. Put in your words those who are still waiting to be found. Put in your words the rescuers who need strength, who need the way to open up, who need light where there is darkness.
May God guide their hands. May He illuminate the path for those who seek. May He give strength to those who wait.
Hope does not fade
Venezuela has survived enormous things.
Its people have a resilience that cannot be explained in words — it is lived, it is felt when you know it up close. We know it. We have seen it in every Venezuelan customer who arrived in Panama with just enough and built something from scratch. In every family that coordinates via WhatsApp the pickup of the package at home. In every entrepreneur who supplies their business there from here, week after week, without giving up.
That Venezuela does not break.
It hurts. It cries. It bleeds. But it does not break.
And we are still here. Not just today, when the tragedy has a name and a front page. We are still here on shipping Tuesdays, pre-alert Fridays, Sundays when someone writes at 11 at night asking when the box arrives.
We are with Venezuela because Venezuela is part of who we are.
And that does not change with time, nor with distance, nor with anything.
If you want to channel help or have questions about how to send donations to Venezuela from Panama, write to us. We are here.
